Is a HASH index different from a clustered / nonclustered index?

Yes. A HASH index is used on a Memory Optimized table. Clustered and NonClustered indexes are used for Disk based tables. There are Clustered and Non Clustered indexes for Coluymn Store indexes, but they are still used on disk based tables.
